Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensure that all cargo is properly secured and distributed within the vehicle to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Plan and execute efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption
- Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving on public roads
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor or dispatcher
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements.
- Safe and clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver
- Good knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other trucking technology
- Strong navigational and route-planning skills
- Good physical stamina and endurance
- Ability to withstand long hours of driving and loading/unloading activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
